My mother tongue is Portuguese, and in compliance with the mother tongue principle, I translate documents mainly from English or French into European Portuguese. I have been a Professional Translator since 1992, having first worked for the European Commission in Brussels and as a Legal Administrator before moving to freelance professional translation. Proofreading and editing of Portuguese texts
If you already have a Portuguese translation but would like a qualified translator to check the document I offer the following services:
- Reviews of translations: I will review a translated document for you and provide you with an opinion as to its quality and suitability for your purposes. No changes will be made to the text, but I will advise as to whether the text requires proofreading or editing.
- Proofreading of translations: I will proofread Portuguese translations, comparing them to the original English (or French), identifying typographical mistakes and linguistic errors introduced in the process of translation.
- Editing of translations: I will review and revise translations to improve the overall style and accuracy of the text, correcting translation errors.
